Our organization has developed a comprehensive policy agenda that we believe best serves the interests of gun owners, Christians, and responsible citizens alike. Additionally, we have created a grading system for members of Congress, based on our rubric for evaluating their stance on the Second Amendment. Our grades are based on a variety of factors, including voting record, public statements, and past actions related to gun rights. We believe that this information is critical for every voter to have, so that they can make informed decisions when casting their ballot.
New WSJ Poll Finds Traditional American Values in Retreat
A new poll by the Wall Street Journal/NORC finds that values like patriotism, religion, and community involvement are declining in importance among Americans. The percentage of Americans who say patriotism is "very important" has fallen from 70% in 1998 to 38% today. Only 39% of Americans say that religion is "very important" to them, down from 62% 25 years ago. Additionally, the share of Americans who value community involvement as "very important" has fallen to 27%

A biblical worldview reminds us that guns are not evil, but rather it is the individuals who misuse them that are evil. We also believe that the government should not infringe on the rights of citizens to own and carry firearms for self-defense, as it is a God-given right to protect oneself and one's loved ones. Building a Culture of Life and Dignity: A Christian Response to Gun Violence
As followers of Christ, we are bound to a duty of care towards our fellow human beings, and gun violence stands in stark contrast to this moral imperative. The reality of gun violence is a tragedy that has been haunting our society for far too long, leaving a trail of pain and loss that affects countless families and individuals across the nation.
It is our responsibility as a society to clearly state that there is no room for gun violence in our midst, regardless of the situation. The loss of innocent lives and the destruction that gun violence causes is a wrong that cannot be justified or excused under any circumstances. As Christians, we must be resolute in our determination to prevent these massacres from happening and to foster healing and restoration for those who have suffered from these horrific events.
Yet, at the same time, we must also recognize the God-given right enshrined in the Second Amendment, and its role as a crucial part of our constitutional freedoms. The right to bear arms is not merely an issue of personal freedom, but also serves as a safeguard against the threat of oppression and tyranny.
Addressing gun violence while respecting the Second Amendment is crucial in promoting a culture of life and dignity. Enhancing security measures, such as the increased airport security post-9/11, and at arenas, stadiums, and large venues has proven effective in preventing incidents. The Data is Clear: Good Guys with Guns Work. Ensuring criminals recognize they have no opportunity to cause violence is the best deterrence. We must recognize that data suggests that the stringent gun control laws do not result in lower gun violence rates, and instead, focus on supporting law enforcement and responsible gun ownership.
As Christians, promoting values like love, compassion, and respect for life is essential in creating a safer society for all. By working together to support both law enforcement and responsible gun ownership, we can uphold these values and provide a secure environment for everyone.
